The Low Budget Crew blesses us with a revival of all your old Christmas classics, with a 2010 twist. Check out Oddisee's remake of the Jackson 5's "I Saw Mommy Kissin' Santa Claus"
For those who have heard of Oddisee, a producer that has been on this blog a couple times, you will be interested in this. The following is an excerpt from the Mello Music Group Myspace page:
Like Lao Tzu in Hiphop Mello Music Group provides music for the soul, from the heart of American culture, opening the realm of the intelligent Hiphop experience through melodic evocations, beats that corroborate the truth, and voices that roar above the rising void and impose order on the terrible & triumphant moments of everyday life. This is the compelling sound of Mello Music Group.
Throwback from '08 that I just ran over, had to post it. Great concept mixtape (all dedicated to the '80s). Check out tracklist and player after the jump..
Lupe chopped it up with DJ Hot Sauce on Milwaukee'sV110.7 JAMS earlier and besides talking about things like Fiasco Friday and his whole label drama he revealed that 'Stereo Sun' and 'Army Girl' won't be featured on Lasers, Lasers will have around 11 tracks (no bonus tracks) and that he plans to drop 2 albums next year.
KN.com has come up with one of the greatest ideas in a hot minute (at least in music blogging)...Last Saturday was the first Jazzy Saturday. This Saturday they release a beat tape starring one of the greatest musicians of the genre, enjoy.
Interesting concept..Taking interludes from various albums during the years as samples. Great producers as well (9th wonder just to mention my favorite -- NC rep). Tracklist and link after the jump.
Yes...this is more of "a movement rather than a supergroup" as Lupe says it. This track is just verse after verse from some of the dopest artists in the game.
